Philip Schaub takes victory in Ljubljana

BMX Race Ljubljana kicked-off the Dr. Auer BMX Alpe-Adria series, the most important competition for many young riders from Slovenia & neighboring countries. Sunday’s event also had a UCI C1 status, which gave the race even stronger international appeal. Strongest race of the week was won by German Philip Schaub.

The weekend of racing at BMX Park Ljubljana, preceded on Friday by the fun-filled Argeta Junior KoloPark Pokal pump track event, attracted riders from Austria, Italy, Hungary, Germany & Slovakia, as well as the entire Slovenian BMX scene. Saturday’s men’s over-17 race was won by Germany’s Liam Webster (BMX Team Cottbus e.V.), winner of all motos. On Sunday he compete in the elite men race and took second behind fellow German Philip Schaub (MSC Ingersheim). Schaub was unbeatable, winning all three motos and thus winning for the first time in Ljubljana. Italian Tommaso Gasparoli (Team BMX Verona) was third, at the same time sole competitor in the U23 group.
